My wife and I were looking for a short break in or near to Oxford and found the Swan on Booked.net. As soon as we arrived at the hotel we were welcomed by attentive staff, checking in was easy and we were quickly in our room. The room was comfortable clean and tidy with a wonderful view over the River Thames. As a had left my phone charger at home I asked on the front desk if they could help me, the front desk staff soon found me a charger for my phone at no expence to me. We had dinner in the resteraunt, again looking over the Thames the food and service was excelent and breakfast wast just as good. If we find ourselves looking for a hotel near Oxford, the Swan will be top of the list.

    Fabulous

This stay was for a family party, so didn't stay nearby much, however, took the chance to take a short walk along the Thames toward Pangbourne, very pleasant, and walked back thru the village of Groing, stopping for a cool pint of Brakspears along the way

Its getting a bit tired now......, So it will become increasingly difficult to justify its price over better finished, and better presented smaller hotels n high end b&b'S.The breakfast is best described as average....

    Very good

Good opportunity to meet up with family in a central location in the south of England and very convenient for the M4, although the location takes you into the countryside with beautiful scenery. The dinner bed and breakfast option makes for a really good deal especially for a large group of people.

    Very good

Very comfortable room with a nice view. The hotel was in a very picturesque and quaint area. It was quite and peaceful, no traffic noise. There are plenty of areas to get out of the room and relax in very comfortable surrounding in the hotel.

The breakfast was somewhat meager and could have been better, but it was well presented and prepared well. The television was an older type with a square screen. Not that I need to watch television at any length during my stay, but I did want to watch a film that was transmitted in widescreen and the picture was quite small. If I were on a longer stay, like a holiday the television would be the less of a concern.

    Fabulous

The location is excellent and you can get to Oxford and Henley very easily by car. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. The views are pleasant overlooking the river. The rooms are clean and well maintained.

The price of the bar food is too expensive for what you get. There is no lift service for most of the rooms and would find it difficult to bring my elderly mum and aunt here for a break. There are no shops of any note in the area. I could possibly get the same break in the sun for the money I outlaid for this weekend break.

    Good

The location is beautiful next to the water.

The decor is tired, the pillows hard and the bathroom not acceptably modern for the cost of this trip.

    Very good

The location was lovely and the young man who greeted us in the restaurant was very professional and friendly. The bar man was very pleasant too. We enjoyed breakfast and dinner.

No where to sit and have a drink in comfort indoors due to a private party ( we were awaiting our meal in the restaurant.) No port at the bar!! No prosecco at the bar Not told about breakfast or facilities at check in. First impressions rather dated. We were given the wrong restaurant bill initially Our bathroom was very small. Access to our terrace was through a very small set of french doors( room 4)

The position was excellent and the staff very good. Double room actually had King size bed - say it on booking sheet.

Generally it was looking a little tired. Needed some TLC. The ensuite showers The breakfasts

    Superb

Gorgeous view from our room, lovely surroundings. The spa was lovely and staff were very friendly and helpful.

We had the most uncomfortable mattress which meant neither of us slept very well.

    Fabulous

Lovely location, food was excellent, friendly and helpful staff.

It states Free Wifi but that only for the first hour, I think is was £12.95 after that for 24hours not good. Also would have been nice to have a bottle of Water in the room without having to pay for one.

    Good

The location and a very good restaurant

The hotel is very tired looking and would benefit from a spruce up to bring up to date

    Fabulous

Beautiful location. Be sure to get a room overlooking the river.

Not possible to control water temperature of shower in bathroom, shower needs updating. Food quality and presentation was good but it was too "nouvelle cuisine" . A big plate with next to nothing on it

We are fortunate to have stayed at this hotel many times. Excellent room. 3 course meal in the restaurant was good value for money and top class as was breakfast. This is such a lovely hotel highly recommended.
